Senior Yoga

There are so many ways to get fit and relax. And yoga is just one of them. Yoga is great for any age and can be for any physical ability (or lack of). Senior yoga can help you feel better, get in shape and de-stress. Something we all need!

Many think that activities such as yoga, can be challenging for seniors. Not true!

What are the benefits of senior yoga?

While yoga is a low-impact activity, it provides many benefits for seniors. It increases strength, flexibility, mobility and balance. All very important for senior health.

It also helps your cognitive skills including keeping your mind sharp and rested.

Yoga can be done alone or with a partner. So invite a friend or two over to try it out. Have some fun with it! Challenge each other on who has the best balance or who can do each pose the longest. Have a few laughs as you try to master each pose and then talk about how you feel afterwards. Keep a journal of your yoga practice and watch your progress.

So what are you waiting for? Give it a try. Something new makes life interesting and exciting.

  1. We made this tonight. We are a bit &#e1&0;North8rn2#8222; in our taste so I used 1/3 cup cane sugar. That made it perfect for us. I also used frozen corn as that is what I prefer. Thank your for this recipe and pointing out that it was “Southern” in its sweetness level. That helped me a lot!
