Philip J. Goscienski, M.D. Goscienski, M.D.
Philip J. Goscienski, M.D. is a pediatric infectious diseases specialist with a 47-year career in clinical and academic medicine. He is the author of numerous medical journal articles and textbook chapters and has written more than 700 newspaper and magazine articles including the Saturday Evening Post and the Newsletter of the American Heart Association. He has published an e-book series, Health Wisdom from the Stone Age, an anthology. His first book, Health Secrets of the Stone Age, won three national and local awards including first place in Health and Medicine category of the 2006 San Diego Book Awards.
He is a graduate of the University of Arizona and the New Jersey College of Medicine and Dentistry. He attained the rank of Captain in the Medical Corps of the U.S. Navy and was Clinical Professor of Pediatrics at the University of California at San Diego School of Medicine. He is a CPR instructor for the American Red Cross and is the medical director of local CPR program that has certified more than 600 persons in adult and child CPR.
