Over this past holiday season, I had the pleasure of spending some time in Florida in a Senior Community park. My husband and I are not yet seniors (getting close!) but we had the pleasure of meeting and interacting with some lovely people in a small senior park south of Orlando. Each day brought through the realization that these communities are so important to the senior way of life. Travel is amazing especially when you can stay at senior community parks!
While sitting poolside it didn’t take long to realize that these were not just individual people enjoying retirement but a group of people that have met because they have chosen this lifestyle. They have quickly become like family members to each other. Constant chatting about what events are coming up, what was on the menu for the day, discussions of grandchildren and mostly lots of laughter…..AND some poolside dancing! These seniors prove that you need to make of your life what you want it to be. Some have limitations but it doesn’t seem to stop their day to day enjoyment of their life, their friends and the activities they want to do. They sure know how to make retirement a wonderful way of life.
I look forward to my next trip back there – maybe as a senior: but I hope sooner!
