Grandkids are easy to love but hard to keep around. Their energy levels are high, and thus, they always want to be doing something or the other. It can get a little difficult to do the things they want to do, but we are here with ideas that you can suggest, and they will love.

As a result, you all will make wonderful memories, and everyone will cherish them for a long time to come.

Things you can do together –

Buy Jewellery

If you have a granddaughter, the best thing you can do is buy jewelry together, especially rings, since they are so special for any girl. They would love wearing it, and they will always think of you when they look at it. You can even create it by yourself

It becomes more memorable and significant when you have the chance to participate in the design and all phases of the process. You come up with the concepts, offer your opinion, select the diamond, and accept the finished product.

Add a bit of your taste and theirs, and voila! Here is a ring you both will love.

Tell Them Stories

Who does not love a good story?

Tell them about the time you met your life partner. Tell them stories about their parents when they were a kid. You can tell them about your grandparents and your relationship with them.

Telling stories will not only create a warm and fuzzy atmosphere but will also make a core memory for them. Only 3 million grandkids are lucky enough to live with their grandparents. But it does not mean you can not bond with them.

Baking Together

Baking can be a lot of fun for kids as they learn the fundamentals of creating tasty treats like cookies and cakes. This is a great activity to do with grandma because she can teach the kids some old family recipes and tell them stories about the family’s history.

Children can be entertained for long periods of time while baking, and the result is something that everyone in the family, including the grandparents, can enjoy.

Create A Family Tree

The creation of a family tree is another shared experience that can strengthen bonds between grandparents and grandkids. It’s especially fascinating for preteens and teens, who are at the age when they’re curious about their family history.

They will be fascinated to learn about their great-great-life grandfather’s accomplishments as well as his unique personality traits. As a keepsake, you can frame your finished tree afterward.

Gardening

If you have a green thumb and a soft spot in your heart for nature, gardening is a wonderful way to share that passion with the next generation. The youngsters will be delighted to watch their pumpkin, berry, or flower plants flourish under your care.

To instruct children on the benefits of composting and the use of compost as fertilizer, you might organize an organic garden. They can brag to their parents about the organic produce they grew in their backyard.

Watering plants with a watering can or hose is a lot of fun for kids of all ages, especially toddlers and younger kids.  People living in urban areas are getting more interested in gardening every year, the 1.3% in the number of stores is a clear suggestion of that. This is a good sign for the coming generation.

Reading

An average American reads 20 minutes a day.  We all know how crucial is reading habits for overall growth and success.

In the winter, grandparents and grandkids can curl up with a good book and a mug of hot chocolate in front of the fire. Go to the library and help them pick some timeless works or the newest release from their favorite author. Your child’s reading abilities will soar if you have them read to you on a regular basis.

Furthermore, your children’s vocabulary will expand, and you will gain major grand-parenting points because of this (parents adore it when their children read to them).

Help your grandchildren develop a lifelong love of reading by reading to them and encouraging them to read on their own.

Bird Watching

The best way to teach a grandchild about the wonders of nature is to take them birdwatching or to a wildlife reserve. Making a lovely DIY birdfeeder to lure winged visitors to your garden is a variation of this theme.

Children may learn to respect the natural world and develop a passion for animals by participating in activities like this, which are both fun and educational. It’s also fun to have a birdbath and watch the beautiful birds having a good time.

To be a grandparent is one of life’s greatest privileges since it allows one to take pleasure in the company of one’s grandson or grandchildren without being burdened by the obligations of parenting. Ask the kids what activities they would like to participate in, and then figure out a method to make those happen.
