Little Free Libraries

Perhaps you don’t live close to a public library or you can’t get to one. Well, there is one answer  that could be for you. The Little Free Library is a nonprofit organization based in St. Paul,  Minnesota.

The mission is to be a catalyst for building community, inspiring readers, and expanding book access for all through a global network of volunteer-led Little Free Libraries. You might have seen one of their charming boxes in front of a house and wondered about it.

These boxes provide 24/7 book access and are open seven days a week, 24 hours a day. There are 150,000+ in over 100 countries and they have shared at least 70 million books per year. Books are unlimited for readers of all ages and backgrounds. You are free to pick out a book any time  or to donate one from our own shelf.

To build a box for your area, you need to be a Steward for it  to make its location known. Any information you need is available from this website: https:// littlefreelibrary.org. You can find one near you or find the plans for building one in English or  Spanish on their site. Feel free to share this resource with your neighbors.
