Younger people may feel that there is no need for older adults and seniors to make resolutions but as knowledgeable seniors we know this is the time to make the smart resolutions.
Below is a round up of some of the best resolutions seniors can make for the upcoming year:
- Eat more veggies. Most of us are guilty of skipping our vegetables more often than we should. The same old vegetables can becoming boring after years of eating them the same way. Try combining them with something new or if you live in a cold climate, a thick soup or stew filled with all types of vegetables might revive your interest.
- Look into new hobbies. Winter is the perfect time for this. If you need to move more, check out the dance videos on YouTube and get your body moving. Take up painting, rock collecting, anything that will give you a new interest. There are so many possible hobbies. Boredom is hard on your heart!
- Listen to more music. There are so many genres of music and most of us couldn’t name more than 3 or 4. Sign up for Spotify, it’s free! Check out what other people are listening to and make up your own playlists. There is music to wake you up, music to help you relax and just good old enjoyable music for any time of day.
- Put away that phone. How often do you notice people glued to their smartphones while their friend or partner is sitting right beside them doing the same thing? There’s nothing your phone can tell you that you probably don’t already know or can wait to find out. People time is more important.
